From San Pedro de la Bendita we continue to the grotto of San Vicente Ferrer and hike through the reserve of the same name, a corner of forest and mountains few visitors know.

We have lunch at the reserve’s shelter and in the afternoon visit a local inn where we are introduced to the medicinal plants still used in the Loja countryside.

Itinerary

  1. Breakfast at the hotel

    Breakfast at La Campiña restaurant: American style or à la carte with Loja specialities (humitas, tamales, green-plantain bolones).

  2. 08:30 · San Pedro de la Bendita

    Transfer to the village.

  3. 10:00 · Grotto of San Vicente Ferrer

    Visit to the grotto.

  4. 11:00 · San Vicente Ferrer reserve

    A hike along the reserve trails.

  5. 13:00 · Lunch at the shelter

    Lunch at the reserve shelter.

  6. 15:00 · Medicinal plants

    Visit to a local inn with a presentation of medicinal plants.

  7. Back at the hotel

    Arrival at El Cardenal, where a cup of Loja coffee and a snack await you.
