Villonaco Wind Farm – Boquerón River Route

The turbines of Villonaco Wind Farm at 2,720 metres, lunch in Catamayo and an afternoon by the Boquerón river.

  • 1 day
  • Easy.
  • El Cardenal Hotel, Loja

Just over 10 km from Loja, on Villonaco hill, turn the 11 turbines of Villonaco Wind Farm, at 2,720 metres and operating since 2013. From there you look down on the Catamayo valley, the “city of eternal sun”.

We go down to Catamayo for lunch and in the afternoon walk along the Boquerón river. If the group wishes and the road allows, we extend the route to the El Guayural petroglyphs in Nambacola (Gonzanamá canton).
