Calle Lourdes

The city’s most picturesque street, with colourful houses and old street lamps: handicrafts and local coffee.

Narrow and lined with colourfully painted colonial houses, Lourdes street runs beside San Sebastián square, between Bolívar and Sucre streets, and is considered one of the oldest in Loja.

Its lamps and balconies make it the most photographed corner of the centre. Its houses hold small workshops, handicraft shops and cafés where you can taste the province’s highland coffee.

Walk it slowly and combine it with Independence Square.
