  • Sector La Argelia, al sur de la ciudad

Founded in 1949, the Reinaldo Espinosa Botanical Garden of the National University of Loja covers seven hectares in La Argelia, south of the city, on the road to Vilcabamba.

It gathers close to a thousand plant species from southern Ecuador, home of the cascarilla (Cinchona officinalis), the quinine tree, endemic to Loja and Ecuador’s national plant.

It is a peaceful outing close to the hotel, perfect for plant lovers and families.
